As Secret Valley starts to grow and expand into a conservation based zoo we know that we cannot achieve this without outside help.

We have varied roles available such as gardening, building enclosures, front of house, talking to the public, coffee shop, taking surveys, helping with our native species counts and assisting the keepers. Training will be provided to all volunteers.

A typical list of tasks that our volunteers carry out can include,

  • Cleaning animal enclosures
  • Assisting our keepers with animal handling sessions
  • Giving keeper talks
  • Food prep
  • Making enrichment items for our animals

Volunteers with particular interests are always encouraged to expand on these, for example equine and hoofstock lovers can work mainly with our ponies and farmyard animals or wildlife enthusiasts can work with out native species conservation programs.

Volunteers have to be 18 years or over, so if you would like to be a part of this team please fill out the following application form or contact us for more information.

We are currently in need of construction/landscaper/animal care volunteers.
