Giant olive millipedes are large type of millipede native to western Africa. They can grow up to 20cm in length. This type of millipede is quite arboreal and is an excellent climber. They are detritivores, feeding on decaying fruits and plant matter.
They are also nocturnal meaning they are most active at night. These millipedes are olive green in colour and 2 sets of legs per body segment. They are most often found in tropical rainforests and dry tree savannahs. When threatened, this millipede can excrete a toxic liquid as a defence mechanism.
