Kunekune pigs are a breed of domestic pig, native to New Zealand. In Māori language, their name translates to “fat and round”. Male pigs are called “boars”, while female pigs are called “sows”. Although they are considered a smaller pig breed, females can weigh up to 90kg and males can weigh over 130kg.
The average lifespan for a Kunekune pig is around 15 years. They are very intelligent animals and usually have a friendly temperament.
